HOW A 22 YEAR OLD GIRL HELPED STOP BANK OF AMERICA FROM IMPOSING
A $5.00 MONTHLY FEE ON DEBIT CARD PURCHASES!

(Here is one for you spineless invertebrates who think that one person can't accomplish anything.) Not needing another fee on her bank account, 22 year old Molly Katchpole (of Washington, D.C.) went to the website Change.org and started an on line petition that garnered 306,000 signatures against the bank's pending action. When Bank of America and several other banks announced their plans for debit card fees are now dead, many are now crediting Katchpole with the victory. In less than one month, Bank of America went from announcing the fee, to reeling under huge pressure from the media, Congress and Change.org. Thank God that there are people like Molly in this world! MARCHING AGAINST THE WALL STREET GREED MACHINE!
The weekend of September 17 (2011) started the protest movement "Occupy Wall Street" sponsored by the Adbusters Media Foundation. You can check whats going on with Occupy Wall Street at their website: http://www.adbusters.org Say want you want about their goals and objectives, or what they're trying to accomplish - at least they are out in the streets, what the hell are you doing? And if you have something to say about it, you can post your comments there.

FIGHTING TO FREEZE HEALTH INSURANCE RATE HIKES!
Massachusetts based, Health Care for All and the Greater Boston Interfaith Organization have issued a challenge to the State's Health Insurance Companies:
Give the ratepayers a one year reprieve from premium increases!
Learn more and help support this effort by visiting: hcfama.org

Update: (12-8-11) And did the insurance company's heed this challenge? For 2012, my (BC/BS Mass.) health insurance plan is going up 6 percent, costing both myself and my company more money. That goes to show you what happens when you just sit by, or hope that somebody else will get it done for you.

STOPPING RISING TAXES!
Several towns in Northeast Connecticut are have voted down their town budgets because the people are sick and tired of continual property and excise tax increases. This forced the Town of Thompson to present a "flat budget" and the first no mil rate increase in 16 years!

EXXON/MOBIL CEO SAYS GAS PRICES ARE NOT HIGH ENOUGH!

(from the Associated Press Thursday, March 10, 2011) Speaking from Wall Street, Rex "the robber" Tillerson (CEO, Exxon/Mobil) said, he doesn't think the recent jump in oil prices is hurting the U.S. economy. He feels that when gas reaches $4.00 per gallon it creates "some challenges" for average American families and their household budgets. What this greedy pig fails to mention is that the last time gasoline cost over $4.00 per gallon - Exxon/Mobil posted "record" profit!

WHY ARE GASOLINE (AND HOME HEATING OIL) PRICES SO HIGH?

Why is the cost of gasoline so high when there is an abundant supply and a continual low demand? It's due to Wall Street speculators - some the recipients of billions of dollars in taxpayers' bailout money - like Goldman Sachs & Co. and Morgan Stanley. Over 80 percent of oil trading volume is handled by speculators. Speculative traders buy and sell oil futures for only one reason - to make a profit. They drive up prices though many of them never take delivery (actually have to see or touch the stuff) or use the oil. So, just how much do oil-market speculators add to a gallon of gasoline? About 83 cents, according to a study done by the University of Massachusetts, Amherst (6-29-11).

UPDATE: Even with the supply disruption caused by the unrest in Libya, there was always enough oil flowing to meet worldwide demand. OPEC admitted that, and Goldman Sachs themselves reported that supplies remained "adequate." throughout that crisis. So why did the speculators install a $27.00 "fear factor" into the price of a barrel of oil? Because they could!

UPDATE #2: (9-26-11) Partial oil production has resumed in Libya, with full production expected to resume in 2012. However, don't hold your breath expecting these greedy speculator pigs to ever remove that fear factor price. (My bet is they will blame Iran next. You heard that here first. 12-10-11)

UPDATE #3: (6-29-11) Exxon Mobil CEO Rex Tillerson told a Senate Committee in May of 2011 that oil prices would be $60.00 to $70.00 per barrel without the effect of speculators. On the day of his comments, oil closed at $98.97 per barrel. Maybe even Big Oil can do without the speculators?

ARE YOU READY TO FIGHT AGAINST THE HIGH COST OF GASOLINE
AND NEEDLESS SPECULATION?

At a face to face meeting with my State Senator, I wasn't at all surprised to hear him say that there has not yet been any real public outcry about the high price of gasoline. When will you people realize that bitching to your family members, friends and co-workers accomplishes nothing? Fact is that it was the public outcry that brought gasoline prices down from $4.11 to $1.92 per gallon back in 2008. Where the hell is that outcry now?

Why have we become nothing more than a bunch of mindless puppets who are willing to just sit by and take whatever is shoved down our throats? Maybe it's time to forgo an evening of posting trivialities on Face Book or watching American Idol to channel your energies to where they might just do some good? Here are some suggestions:

1) Contact your members of Congress and let them know who it is that they work for and represent. They (supposedly?) work for we the people, however as soon as they take office the first people knocking at their doors are the representatives and lobbyists for Big Oil, the Wall Street greed machine and other special interests. Any member of Congress can be directly and easily reached at: http://contactingthecongress.org/. Your State Representatives can be found by doing a search for your State's General Assembly. Remember, they will soon be looking for your vote. The PSR doesn't care if your a Democrat, Republican or an Independent, ask these people what they intend on doing about high gasoline prices....

2) Ben Bernanke at the Federal Reserve can be contacted at: www.federalreserve.gov/feedback.cfm (select "comment for board members"). Current Fed policies help keep our dollar weak and are geared to benefit the big banks, investment firms and the scum on Wall Street who nearly ruined our economy. Tell Bernanke it's time to do something for the people down on Main Street for a change. Wall Street and Big Oil will continue to do just fine when things become more affordable for us little guys.....

3) The Commodities Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) can be reached at: questions@cftc.gov (Subject: to Gary Gensler, Chairman). These are the people whose job it is to oversee and govern the commodities market. However, they aren't doing anything to help average Americans. New guidelines to curb speculation should have been put in place back in February (2011). Ask Gensler why this hasn't happened? We'll pay while they continue to play.
